Fantasy Football Week 1 Picks – Sports Confidant

Hi everyone! Here are my favorite and least favorite players for the first week of the fantasy football season. This week, I will be breaking down why I chose my favorite players for my teams of the week.

QB: Russell Wilson – I do not trust the Falcons to put up much of a fight this week. I think they arguably are the most poorly run organization in all of football. We will see Russell Wilson prove his worth tomorrow against a mediocre Falcons team.

RB: Austin Ekeler – With no real quarterback at the helm, the Chargers will be looking for their number 1 offensive weapon often, especially in the passing game.

RB: Dalvin Cook – You can never rule out a healthy Dalvin Cook. With Diggs gone, Dalvin Cook will get an even bigger piece of the pie. 15 points at a minimum. One of the safest plays this week.

WR: Chris Godwin – Mike Evans injury means Tom Brady will be looking for his slot wide receiver often. He’s the go to target on Bruce Arian’s offense. The man makes his slot wide receivers fantasy gold.

WR: DJ Chark Jr. – The Jaguars will have to play from behind in this game and that means they are going to rely on their only two offensive weapons.

TE: Evan Engram – With wide receiver injuries, we should see Daniel Jones lean heavily on their tight end this year, especially in the red zone.

FLEX: Chris Thompson – See ‘DJ Chark Jr.’

D/ST: Bears – With recent injuries to the Lions offense, I think the Bears defense has a great opportunity to start the year hot.

K: Rodrigo Blankenship – The Jacksonville defense got much worse this offseason. I believe the Colts will have multiple drives that take them well within field goal range.
